the Disney restaurants on our list for our next trip

Mom and I spent one evening last week talking about the restaurants we wanted to try to get reservations for on our next trip. There are so many must-try restaurants in Disney World! Our last trip, we only had 30 days to plan. Now, we get to make reservations 180 days in advance, so we’ll have a better shot of getting our favorites!

Hey, don’t forget: if you’re planning a trip to Disney World, make sure to grab a copy of the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World. The 2019 edition is currently out, and the 2020 edition comes out in August. This is my favorite guide book and I always get a copy! (Disclaimer: This is an affiliate link.)

Our must-try restaurants in Disney World

Mom and I realized we have a lot of signature dining on our list this year… Those are some of Disney’s more upscale restaurants that take two Disney Dining Plan credits instead of one. So, we might get a dining plan this year!

Jiko at the Animal Kingdom Lodge

Mom and I were all for Jiko on our last trip, but because we were on the dining plan and only had a few nights to eat out. A few highlights for us were:

  • North African-spiced scallops.
  • Oak-grilled filet mignon.
  • Mrouzia-style Moroccan lamb tagine.

Not to mention that it’s at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, AKA our favorite resort. We’ll never splurge on that expensive of a resort (we prefer to splurge on food!!) so we like to eat at one of the three delicious restaurants here.

Be Our Guest Restaurant in Magic Kingdom

We had lunch at Be Our Guest on our last trip, and it was underwhelming. But we have big dreams that the prix fixe menu at dinner will be less stressful than the Very Crazy lunch situation. (Our food was tasty at lunch!)

We are looking forward to…

  • Escargo (that’s all Mom, OK?)
  • Spice-dusted lamb chops
  • Roasted pork tenderloin

Tiffins in Animal Kingdom

This surprised both Mom and I, but we thought Tiffins sounded amazing. Epcot has always been our favorite park to eat and play in, but Animal Kingdom is doing a great job of holding down second place. Who woulda thunk?

Our highlights would be…

  • Shrimp & grits
  • Whole-fried sustainable fish
  • Roasted brussel sprouts

Spice Road Table in Morocco in Epcot

We love Mediterranean food and had a delicious lunch at Tangierine Café in Epcot, so we decided to make a reservation at Spice Road Table, the table service across the way.

All you have to say for me is baklava.

1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian

Mom and I wanted to do one character meal this year (we didn’t see any characters on our last trip!) and our No. 1 choice will be 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian! We’re going to get breakfast and eat with Tigger, Winnie the Pooh, Alice, the Mad Hatter and Mary Poppins – a great blend of characters, if you ask us!

We thought about doing tea at the Grand Floridian, but this will be even better!

Narcoossee’s at the Grand Floridian

No one loves seafood more than me, so Narcoossee’s was high up on my list! Mom read all of the lobster menu items off to me several times, so I think I know what she’ll be ordering.

As for me, my highlights include…

  • Narcoossee’s Candy Bar
  • Pan-seared scallops with gnocchi
